History
The first steps were quick. In over 30 years, the first of its history, Monteiro Aranha revolutionized the glass packaging segment and joined the Klabin family in the pulp industry. Two strenuous steps, reflecting the entrepreneurial spirit of its founders.

1921

Monteiro Aranha launches the foundations of a large and modern glass packaging industry.

1930

Monteiro Aranha joins the Klabin family and takes part in the largest integrated Brazilian pulp and paper group: Indústrias Klabin de Papel e Celulose

 

Diversification of investments is the mark of the period?
Monteiro Aranha brings the automotive industry to the country, invests in the petrochemical sector and telecommunications. Leaves its mark on all projects: always think ahead and make major progress in minimum time.

- Acquisition of control of Ericsson do Brasil
- Constitution of Mael Monteiro Aranha Empreendimentos Ltda.
- Beloit do Brasil is created

Reorganization gives more strength and agility to new investments ?
A strategic reorientation results in a sale that tied the company’s share capital to a main source and in the acquisition of several other stakes. The company reinvents itself, remaining faithful to the initial concepts: ethics, work and belief in the future of the country.

1980

- New shareholdings arise
- Sale of half of Monteiro Aranha’s stake in Volkswagen do Brasil (10%) to the Government of Kuwait
- Purchase of 50% of Banco Inter-Atlântico’s share capital

 

1990

Monteiro Aranha was once again interested in and playing a relevant role in relation to the automobile industry in Brazil

Banco Boavista Purchase

Monteiro Aranha takes part in a consortium that competes for the tender of mobile telephony

Sale of Banco Boavista to Bradesco

Launch of Timbutuva Empreendimentos Ltda.

Sale of the 20% stake in Owens-Illinois do Brasil to Owens-Illinois América Latina Administração Ltda.
